General Dentistry Procedures For Your Family

Checkups.  In our Babylon, NY office we can provide your family with regular checkups to make sure that none of you have cavities or an oral infection.  You should schedule your checkups for twice a year to be sure that if you do develop decay, it can be removed before it can spread and cause you any discomfort.

Dental hygiene.  We can show your family how to properly brush and floss teeth in order to prevent oral health problems.  Dental hygiene begins at home but most people do not take care of their teeth like they should.  We can help.

Oral cancer screening. When you visit Babylon Smiles, Edward Zeva D.M.D., P.C. can perform an oral cancer screening to make sure that you are not showing any early signs of oral cancer.  This type of cancer typically goes undetected until it has reached advanced stages.  It is far better to catch it early so that you can seek treatment before it spreads.  This is why we recommend that our 11702 patients schedule an oral cancer screening when having their teeth cleaned.

TMJ disorder (mouth guards).  If you are suffering from a sore jaw, facial pain headaches, a sore neck or popping sounds when you open your mouth, you should visit our Babylon, NY to discuss TMJ disorder and how wearing mouth guards can help you.  A mouth guard is a small oral appliance that will fit your teeth securely so that it remains in place while you sleep.  By wearing mouth guards, your teeth will not grind or clench while you sleep and that will prevent your TMJ disorder from causing you a great deal of discomfort.

Dentures. If you have lost any of your teeth, dentures are an excellent way to replace them. This can be a temporary solution while you are waiting to have dental implants placed or we can create a permanent set of dentures that fits perfectly, feels great and looks natural.

You Can Also Visit Our General Dentistry Office for Restorations

If you have damaged one or several teeth we can restore them.  We have several ways to do so including dentures, dental bonding, and dental crowns.  However, when possible we prefer to prevent your teeth from becoming damaged or infected.  Preventative care like dental checkups, hygiene, oral cancer screenings, and mouth guards can help you to maintain healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime and at our Babylon dental office that is exactly what we are focused on.
